A Hippie Day on Impanema

Nov 29th

Edie and I got up at 9:30am to get ready and grab breakfast. We threw on our bathing suits and headed to the Hippie fair in Impanema which was about a 10 minute walk. We walked around for over two hours looking at all of the goods that venders from all over Brazil were selling. Edie got a lot of Christmas gifts. I bought a small painting that can easily be rolled and wont take up much room (much easier to travel with than my last painting purchase in Bali that was huge and hard to carry around).  I was pleased with my purchase, it will look good in my apartment!

Edie had bought a lot of gifts and was running low on cash so we headed back to the room to drop off her new purchases and reconfigure our money situations. We went back to the Hippie fair to attempt one last purchase, this time on her credit card, and had no luck. She has a very high tech HSBC premium account, that somehow locked her out of using it. We called it fate and gave up. We headed to the beach and meet Stephanie and Isabelle at 2pm we found where they were sitting and touched base with them then decided to grab some lunch. We split a pizza at a cute restaurant two blocks from Impanema beach. Afterwards we got in some  quality beach time and enjoyed relaxing by the water.

We were both tired since we had stayed up so late the night before planning Carnival so we took naps on the beach. We went to the Grill In again for dinner. This place really does have a good variety and the price is right! We went back to the room to relax and I spent some time online doing research and drafting a letter to send to Vail Resorts to express my continued interest working for their company. Lets hope it works and I will be employed in just over a month!

That’s all for now.

Love,
Katie
